Maa Brahmacharini is the second form of Goddess Durga. She is the embodiment of chastity and austerity. Maa Brahmacharini is worshipped on the second day of Navratri. Maa Brahmacharini is depicted as a peaceful Goddess, with a calm and serene demeanour. She is dressed in white, symbolising purity. In her right hand, she holds a rosary, and in her left hand a kamandalu (water pot). Maa Brahmacharini is the epitome of austerity and penance. She undertook severe penance to win the love of Lord Shiva. Her aarti is a prayer to seek her blessings for a life of peace, chastity and austerity.
