Guru Nanak Dev Ji is the founder of the Sikh religion and the first of the ten Sikh Gurus. He is also considered to be the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He was born in the year 1469, in the village of Talwandi, now called Nankana Sahib, in the Punjab province of Pakistan. Guru Nanak's teachings can be found in the Sikh scripture, the Guru Granth Sahib. He preached the message of God's oneness and the equality of all humans. He also stressed the importance of living a truthful and moral life. The Guru Nanak Aarti is a prayer that is sung in honor of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. It is a beautiful and moving hymn that praises the Guru for his wisdom and compassion.
